Safety
A ride is only good if it ends well
Safety is a set of habits, not a slogan. Here is what we ask of every rider, and what we do on our side.
Riders
What we ask of every rider
- Ride solo — one rider per vehicle, always.
- Wear a helmet. Where local rules require one, the app will tell you before you unlock.
- Never ride after drinking or when you are unwell.
- Keep both hands on the handlebar and your phone in your pocket.
- Give way to people on foot, always, everywhere.
- Slow down on broken surfaces, tram lines, wet ground and at night.
- If something feels wrong with the vehicle, stop and report it in the app.
Us
What we are responsible for
- Speed is limited by design, and reduced further inside slow zones.
- Vehicles are inspected on a cycle and pulled off the street when they fail.
- An in-app SOS reaches our team, with your ride and location attached.
- Incident reports are logged, reviewed and answered — not closed silently.
- We publish the rules we ride by, and we apply them to ourselves too.
Vehicles
Four layers of checking
Every ride
A short in-app check of brakes, tyres, lights and the frame before the vehicle unlocks.
Every battery swap
A field technician inspects the vehicle while swapping the battery and can take it off the street immediately.
Scheduled service
Each vehicle has a service interval by distance and by days, tracked per fleet number.
Automatic removal
A reported fault, a fall, or a failed check takes the vehicle out of service without waiting for a human decision.
Emergencies
If something happens
- If someone is injured, call the local emergency services first. Always.
- Then report the incident in the app: it reaches the operations team with the vehicle, location and time already attached.
- Do not move a damaged vehicle into traffic. Leave it where it is safe and tell us.
- Every incident is logged, reviewed, and used to change the service area, the zones or the vehicle.
SYIBE is not an emergency service. In an emergency, the local emergency number is always the first call — the app is the second.
Be first to ride
The SYIBE app is being prepared for release. Leave your details and we will tell you the day riding opens in your city.
